Rutigliano
The medieval town of Rutigliano, known as the 'Citta dell'Uva' (City of the Grape), famous for its grapes and terracotta whistles stands unchanged for centuries. Centro Storico (Historical Center) of Rutigliano is one of the best-preserved towns in the region. Several squares are connected to each other with narrow winding streets.

It is located inland from Mola di Bari, between Bari and Conversano, allowing easy access to the regions highlights.

Although the 11th Century Norman castle no longer stands, the remains including the 34-meter (111 feet) tower, next to Piazza Cesare Battist and the Roman aqueduct north of the town remain intact.

Rutigliano is famous for various types of terracotta products, especially with the animal shaped 'fischietti' (whistles). During the Feast of St. Antonio Abate, every January the terracotta whistle fair is a highlight not to be missed.

Another important event is the “Festival of Sant’Oronzo,” which takes place in August and celebrates the patron saint of the town. During this festival, Rutigliano comes alive with religious processions, music, and various cultural activities.

During the Grape Festival held in September, bunches of grapes compete, where the heaviest bunch is awarded.
